An Abyss is a very deep hole in the ground, it also can refer to death, a horrible place fullied with poor souls suffering for eternity but, researchers and excavators refers to an Abyss as a deep hole in the ground where you can descend to explore.
Obviously, it wolud be pitch black, so you will need a flashlight or something that can provide you some light.
Normally, only those who are prepared and have the needed strenght to descend there can do it, because it demands a lot of energy and a rigurous training before you can descend, those who are not prepared may die and rest in the bottom of the Abyss.
You can found even an underwater Abyss, in fact, most of them are in the deepests points of our oceans, waiting for someone to challenge them.
But, humans can´t reach the bottom of all of them, because when they are exploring, they have to deal with high underwater pressure and an illness that come while descending.
Maybe these abysses have beautiful and awesome enviroments that none of us have seen yet, humanity are trying to explore this holes but it represents a huge amount of money so, they can´t pay for this, not yet.

Another huge underwater Abyss is the well known Mariana´s Pit, which is about 11 kilometers deep underwater, is near Japan´s coasts but it belongs to USA.
Also, we can find a manga whit an anime adaptation named Made in Abyss made by Akihito Tsukushi.
The story follows an orphaned young girl, Riko, who finds and befriends a humanoid robot Reg and descends with it into the titular "Abyss", that leads deep into the Earth, in hopes of finding her mother.

So, if you are interested in The Hollow Abyss, you have to dive onto it until you reach the deepest point, The Bottom of the Abyss...
¨May your journey overflow with curses and blesings¨

Now go and watch Made in Abyss.
